What you’ll do
- Prepare outstanding dishes across various kitchen sections, including a la carte, buffet, larder, mise-en-place, room service, and banquets
- Bring fresh ideas to the table by helping develop new menu items that elevate the guest dining experience
- Lead and mentor junior staff, offering training and support to foster their growth
- Apply a range of cooking techniques to deliver consistently exceptional dishes
- Ensure the kitchen remains spotless, organized, and compliant with food safety standards at all times
- Encourage open communication and collaboration within the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Trade qualifications and prior experience in the hotel industry (preferred)
- Extensive experience working with a la carte service
- Solid understanding of food safety requirements
- A service-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a quick-paced environment
- Flexibility and the ability to embrace change and adapt quickly
