Remuneration: $126,524 – $129,591 per annum + super + salary packaging. Employment type: Permanent Full Time. Position classification: Occupational Therapist Level4. Hours per week: 38. Applications close: Sunday,31May2026. Interviews will be held: Wednesday,3June2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive, person‐centred social work interventions to patients and families.
* Offer specialist disability and NDIS consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues across acute care settings.
* Support discharge planning for patients living with disability, ensuring safe and timely transitions to community‐based services.
* Collaborate with the JohnHunter Hospital Social Work Service, providing supervision and professional connection.
* Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that support vulnerable populations.
Qualifications
* Occupational Therapy Bachelor Degree or qualifying Master's Degree providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy (AAOT). Provide a copy of your qualification with your CV.
* Current registration with AHPRA.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW (submit a copy of your licence with your CV).
* Minimum three years of experience utilising a broad range of Occupational Therapy interventions in an acute health setting.
* Advanced knowledge of the challenges faced by people with disability and an excellent understanding of the NDIS, particularly in discharge planning and transition facilitation.
* Strong problem‐solving, organisational and time‐management skills, with experience planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on quality improvement initiatives.
