Fixed-term, full‑time position until June 30th 2027 based in Melbourne.

About This Role

Undertake analysis and provide authoritative advice on complex clinical and operational issues relating to the statewide clinical and rehabilitation services for young people.

Contribute to implementing critical reforms to be introduced in the Youth Justice Bill that will enable children and young people to participate in treatment and rehabilitation programs while on bail or remand, without prejudicing their trial.

Opportunity

- VPS Grade 5.2 role: $124,888 - $136,747 per year plus superannuation.
- Support the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical assessments, frameworks, policies and procedures relating to the delivery of criminogenic and non‑criminogenic interventions for young people in Youth Justice who are on bail and remand.
- Drive quality assurance practices and support evaluation of service delivery, maintaining clinical integrity and evidence‑based approaches for the target cohorts.
- Manage and deliver time‑limited projects relating to specific policy or program issues related to the rehabilitation services, with a focus on young people on the SRS Waitlist, on bail and remand.
- Ensure interventions and services are integrated with other service delivery requirements, are responsive to specific groups, and are tailored to the complexity of their environments.
- Facilitate ongoing clinical service and quality improvements around programs and services of rehabilitation services to ensure ongoing alignment with service standards and evidence‑based best practice.

Qualifications and Experience

- Experience in the development of policy advice and/or delivery of clinical programs and services within correctional and/or complex health systems.
- Understanding of the key issues impacting on clinical service delivery for young people, including best practice young offender rehabilitation principles.
- Ability to identify policy and program needs including understanding risk management principles.
- Experience in offender rehabilitation or forensic allied health is required.
- General registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or
- Current membership with the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
- Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
