Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Serving as a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in optimising processes and supporting your colleagues. A motivated and confident individual with a drive for improvement, you will lead by example and engage with others at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Optimisation:
2. Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes involved in cement production, including raw material preparation, grinding, pyroprocessing, and cement grinding.
3. Troubleshooting and Problem-solving:
4. Identify and resolve operational issues and process inefficiencies using analytical techniques and engineering principles to achieve optimal performance and minimise downtime.
5. Process Monitoring:
6. Monitor and analyse key process and quality parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical composition, to ensure adherence to quality standards and troubleshoot abnormalities promptly.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
8. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives, such as optimising energy consumption, reducing emissions, and enhancing productivity.
9. Documentation and Reporting:
10. Prepare technical reports, maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and projects, and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
11. Degree in Chemical & Process Engineering (or related)
12. NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent)
13. Proven experience in the cement industry or heavy industry
14. Experience supervising technical teams
15. Knowledge and experience of high-level control systems and their use to optimise plant operation
16. Technical understanding of pyroprocessing and combustion
17. Energy management knowledge and experience (i.e., KPI monitoring and associated improvement plans/projects)
18. Good knowledge of process control methods and statistical troubleshooting methods
