The Role
We're looking for a technically skilled and solutions‐focused Senior Operational Technology Field Technician to join our Operational Technologies team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands‐on field environment while also contributing to the future design and improvement of critical OT infrastructure across water, sewer and treatment plant operations.
This role combines technical troubleshooting, project delivery, field‐based maintenance, systems improvement and commissioning work in a highly collaborative environment.
You'll also participate in a 24/7 rotating on‐call roster supporting emergency maintenance and operational continuity.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and support OT assets including control systems, telemetry and communications infrastructure
* Perform reactive fault rectification and proactive asset maintenance activities
* Support operational reliability through alarm monitoring, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
* Configure, program and maintain PLCs, RTUs and SCADA systems
* Develop control system philosophies and SCADA network designs for upgrades and projects
* Support commissioning activities for new infrastructure and system upgrades
* Develop scopes, specifications and work packages for improvement projects
* Manage OT communications technologies including digital radio and cellular networks
* Ensure cybersecurity standards and OT compliance requirements are maintained
* Review vendor and contractor work to ensure quality and standards compliance
* Develop technical standards, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
* Mentor and support junior team members through knowledge sharing and training
What we're Looking for
You'll bring strong technical expertise across Operational Technology environments along with excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.
We're looking for someone with experience in:
* Industrial control systems, PLCs and RTUs
* SCADA systems and telemetry networks
* Electrical control wiring and installations
* OT communications networks and radio technologies
* Operational Technology cybersecurity standards
* Project management and technical documentation
* Commissioning and systems testing
* Continuous improvement and problem solving
* Current driver's licence
* Strong analytical and fault‐finding capability
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work collaboratively across operational and project environments
* Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
Experience with the following technologies will be highly regarded:
* SCADAPack RTUs (E‐Series)
* GE PLCs (9030 and RX3i)
* Version control platforms such as Octaplant/VersionDog
* Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline (preferred)
