We are a client‐centred organisation supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions with specialist services for people impacted by sexual and family violence. Services include 24‐hour crisis care, specialist response, early intervention, Victims Assistance, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery, professional training and primary prevention initiatives.
Job Description
About The Role
This position delivers after‐hours crisis response for adults, young people and children who have experienced a recent sexual assault (within the last 14 days) or family violence. Practitioners are based in their home during rostered shifts and provide phone or in‐person support depending on the victim's immediate needs and risk assessment.

Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in psychology, social work, welfare, community development or a related discipline
* Minimum one year of relevant experience
* Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (at own expense)
* Current Victorian Driver's Licence
* Commitment to the vision, values and continuous quality improvement of the SAFV Centre
Essential Skills and Knowledge
* Understanding of causes of family violence and sexual assault and their impact on adults, children and families
* Experience in crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning
* Ability to apply trauma‐informed practice frameworks
* Culturally sensitive engagement and effective communication skills
* Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively across complex systems
* Proficiency with MS Office and relevant databases
Working Arrangement
* Casual, rostered on‐call basis outside business hours (5:00pm–9:00am weekdays, 9:00am–9:00am weekends and public holidays)
* Work from home or outreach locations as required
* Minimum six shifts per month, with flexibility as service needs arise
* Candidates must live within a 30‐minute radius of Geelong hospital, Victoria
Pay and Conditions
On‐call allowance for each shift, with additional hourly rate for phone or in‐person support. Superannuation contributions made in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992. Employment terms governed by the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023.
