About the business Marlin Campers is a family-owned Camper trailer manufacturer located on the Central Coast, NSW. We are a small team who have been manufacturing award winning Campers since 2008.
The role We are seeking a qualified and experienced Sheet Metal Worker / Welder Fabricator to join our trailer production team. You will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling trailers used for Marlin Campers. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
Key responsibilities
* Fabricate trailers and trailer components from raw steel.
* Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine job, material, and equipment requirements.
* Measure, mark, and lay out metal stock using measuring instruments like squares, rulers, and gauges.
* Cut, shape, and form sheet metal and other materials using hand tools and machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, and folders.
* Operate and maintain workshop equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
* Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure fabricated components meet exact specifications and quality standards.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to all workplace health and safety (OHS) regulations.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and project goals.
Skills and qualifications
* Australian recognised trade certificate in Engineering – Fabrication (Sheetmetal) or equivalent is highly desirable.
* Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker or Welder Fabricator, ideally within the trailer, truck, or road transport equipment manufacturing industry.
* Strong proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
* Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions.
* Experience operating a variety of sheet metal machinery, including press brakes, guillotines, and rollers.
* Demonstrated attention to detail and a high degree of precision in your work.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
* A strong understanding of workshop safety procedures and protocols.
