Role Overview
Support project managers in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure deliverables align with project milestones.
Monitor progress against schedule and flag potential delays early.
Technical Support & Design Review
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Liaise with design engineers, architects, and consultants to resolve technical issues.
Provide value-engineering suggestions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Prepare material take-offs and assist in creating procurement schedules.
Review vendor/subcontractor quotes and recommend selections based on technical and commercial evaluation.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid site delays.
Site Coordination & Quality Assurance
Work closely with site supervisors and contractors to ensure execution matches approved drawings/specifications.
Inspect work, perform quality checks, and document compliance.
Identify and report defects or non-conformance issues and follow through on corrective actions.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure work complies with safety regulations, permits, and environmental requirements.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety audits.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date project documentation (drawings, RFIs, change requests, inspection records).
Prepare progress reports, status updates, and cost tracking for project stakeholders.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as a bridge between design office, site team, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager promptly.
Change Management
Assess impact of design or scope changes on cost and schedule.
Support preparation of variation claims and change orders.
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
* Demonstrated experience in a similar position
* Demonstrated experience in the mining and/or construction industry
* Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project)
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and random drug & alcohol testing
