About the Role
Maintaining Grounds at Our Care Home
As a gardener at our care home, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our residents. This is a part-time role with 3 days of work per week.
* Mowing lawns and maintenance of garden beds
* Trimming of hedges and foliage
* Planting out and replacing as needed
* Weeding, mulching, and pruning
* Fertilising and controlling pests and diseases
This role requires a Certificate II or III in Horticulture, although it is not essential. Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience required. You must have an understanding of plants, pest management, and chemical handling.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to solve problems independently. They must also have a strong understanding of resident rights, aged care accreditation standards, and outcomes.
