Suddenly is seeking an Account Director to lead content production for a fast paced retailer account. This is a client-facing role spanning omni-channel editorial and supplier-funded content.

This is a senior leadership position, responsible for client relationship management, commercial strategy, and high-level delivery for this flagship account. You will serve as the primary senior contact for a fast paced retailer, navigating complex client structures to build consensus and ensure all agency work aligns with their strategic business goals and tight timelines.

The role demands a proven ability to thrive under pressure, manage a high volume of simultaneous, complex, multi-channel projects, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across all levels of the client’s business. You will oversee cross-functional account teams, ensuring profitable, consistent, and on-budget delivery. A strong focus on identifying and driving strategic growth and upsell opportunities is essential for meeting revenue targets.

What You’ll Do

Lead senior-level client relationships as a trusted advisor for content marketing solutions.

Develop strategic growth plans and drive upsell and new business opportunities for the account.

Oversee a high-volume pipeline of fast-turnaround, multi-disciplinary digital projects.

Manage financial accountability, including budget oversight, resource allocation and forecasting.

Approve campaign strategies, budgets, and creative outputs, ensuring client objectives and agency standards are met quickly.

Act as the escalation point for complex issues, delivery risks, and strategic alignment.

Report on account health, performance, and commercial outcomes to agency leadership.

Collaborate with internal agency directors (Creative, Strategy, Digital) for integrated delivery.

Proven ability to mentor cross-functional teams in a fast-paced agency.

Skilled at driving strategic thinking and innovative initiatives.

Drives collaboration and high performance.

Client & Commercial

Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and building rapport at all senior and mid-levels.

Sets account strategy, driving significant account growth and retention.

Strong commercial awareness, financial accountability, and experience managing budgets/revenue.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills for senior client engagement.

Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling strategic recommendations and deliverables under tight deadlines.

Who are you? The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen and strong leadership, with a focus on speed and navigating client organisations.

5–8 years of experience in client services or agency account leadership.

Proven success managing a high-value, demanding account with a rapid project cadence.

Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder environments within a large client organisation.

Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing diverse creative projects (web, print, digital).

Track record of driving strategic growth, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Familiarity with marketing, creative, or digital agency environments is essential.

A strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced setting.
