About the role
The Occupational Therapists work as part of the Justice Health and Wellbeing Services (JHWS) multidisciplinary team and deliver occupational therapy assessments, intervention, and care planning to people incarcerated in Western Australian prisons. JHWS multidisciplinary teams are made up of nurses, consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, aboriginal mental health workers and prison support officers.
Current vacancies exist in Bunbury and Welshpool with additional vacancies expected to arise in Canning Vale.
Qualifications
* A tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) and eligible for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
* Current registration by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
Permanent eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool and recruitment process
This recruitment pool will run for a period of 6 months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities. There are 2 permanent positions currently available for immediate filling. Vacancies may arise in other locations. Applicants found suitable in this pool may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies within the Department for the duration of the pool.

o Experience and clinical skills in planning, implementing and evaluating Occupational Therapy services in Disability and Allied Health Services (DAHS) caseloads.
o Ability to develop, plan and apply skills in assessment, treatment techniques and discharge planning for DAHS caseloads in a fast and efficient manner.
All remaining role-specific criteria will be assessed at a later stage in the recruitment process.
