Where you'll be working
Based in the Oncology Day Unit at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, you'll join a state-of-the-art cancer centre serving the northern half of Hunter New England.
Opened in ****, this purpose-built facility delivers a full range of oncology and haematology services in a warm and supportive environment.

About The Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Oncology Day Unit, you'll provide safe and compassionate care to adult patients undergoing treatment for oncological and haematological conditions.
This busy 8-chair, 1-bed unit operates Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), delivering high-quality outpatient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
You'll work alongside Clinical Nurse Consultants, a Nurse Practitioner, a McGrath Cancer Nurse and Oncology Educators, ensuring patients and their families receive excellent support throughout their treatment journey.
Supernumerary shifts at commencement will support your transition into the role, and ongoing oncology-specific training will be provided.
We are looking to build an eligibility list of passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses who are eager to join our Oncology team.
Whilst we currently have permanent part-time and temporary part-time positions available, this list will also help us identify and connect with qualified candidates for future opportunities as they arise.

About You
You are a proactive and compassionate nurse with a strong commitment to patient-centred care, bringing relevant experience in acute care nursing.
Whilst oncology or haematology experience is desirable, it is not essential, and motivation to learn and build expertise in these specialties is highly valued.
Accredited in cannulation (highly desirable) you enjoy working in a supportive and collaborative team environment and can adapt in a busy clinical setting while maintaining professionalism and empathy throughout your practice.
Requirements
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in oncology nursing (or working towards)
