Senior Electrical Engineer | Generation & Energy Transition
Location: Adelaide, Brisbane, or Newcastle
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an Asset Engineering and Digital team within Generation & Energy Transition. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, this role provides specialist electrical engineering support across power generation assets, helping improve safety, reliability, and performance.
About the Role
You will support asset performance and lifecycle optimisation through strong engineering practice, technical leadership, and continuous improvement. The role works across multidisciplinary teams to deliver asset management strategies, capital project support, and safe, compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead asset management strategies to optimise lifecycle performance and cost
* Provide technical expertise across HV/LV electrical equipment
* Support condition monitoring, fault resolution, and root cause analysis
* Scope, design, and support commissioning of electrical works
* Support capital projects, including estimates and technical specifications
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and asset integrity standards
* Act as Subject Matter Expert within technical governance frameworks
* Mentor and support engineers and site teams
* Drive continuous improvement in engineering and asset reliability
About You
* Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
* 7+ years' electrical engineering experience (HV/LV systems)
* Experience in power generation, ideally operations or maintenance
* Eligible or working toward CPEng and state registration (e.g. RPEQ/RPEV)
* Strong safety leadership and risk management capability
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
* Generators, transformers, inverters, or instrumentation
* Asset management systems and isolation permit environments
* Project delivery and quality management systems
