Darling Range SC is located approximately 15 kilometres east of the Perth city centre in the foothills of Perth. The College is experiencing rapid growth and is seen as a school of choice by the local community and by students from across the state who enrol in our specialist sports programs.

Darling Range SC is a Positive Behaviour School that encourages resilient and independent students. The ability to build and maintain safe, positive learning environments where students flourish is important for our students' success. Staff work collaboratively within a strong whole‐school approach to teaching and behaviour and are supported through ongoing professional learning.

As the state's only Sports College, Darling Range SC provides specialist programs in Australian Football League (AFL), Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Swimming and Rugby. Complementing our sporting programs are extensive opportunities to participate in the Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program (ACES), the Music Program, the Vocational Educational Program and the Arts Program.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic leader. Working closely with the Student Services, Executive and wider administrative team, the Program Coordinator – Student Services will oversee and guide a team, fostering staff cohesion and capacity building. They will also play a key role in the implementation of Department of Education policies related to attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing. As the Program Coordinator – Student Services, you will ideally display a high level of interpersonal communication and time management skills with the capacity to lead and work as part of a busy, dynamic team. Ideally, your knowledge of case management of educationally at‐risk students includes an understanding of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies and experience in developing and fostering effective partnerships with external agencies to support students and school‐based initiatives.

You will take ownership for promoting and maintaining aspects of the school culture that encourage and support positive relationships and active engagement between students, staff, parents, and the wider community. The successful applicant should build the professional capacity of the Student Services Team by providing high‐level support and guidance, leading mentoring, coaching and management, as well as implementing effective proactive whole‐school initiatives.

The successful applicant should be dedicated, innovative and proactive in ensuring that the student services team provides students, parents and teachers with outstanding service. Skills and experience working in a pastoral care capacity is highly desirable.
