About the Role:
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, technical quality, contribute to business development and day-to-day team leadership. You will balance hands-on engineering input with managing clients, resources and workflows to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring projects, budgets and schedules run smoothly.
* Provide technical oversight, peer review and mentorship to the engineering team.
* Drive efficient systems, workflows and continuous improvement across the business.
* Manage resource allocation to ensure effective project delivery.
* Support commercial activities including tenders, proposals, pricing and forecasting.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships through meetings, site visits and proactive issue resolution.
* Recruit, develop and support team performance while fostering a positive culture.
* Work closely with the Managing Director on strategy, growth initiatives and business planning.
What You Bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical or Structural Engineering
* 15+ years' engineering experience – preferably within the Resources sector
* Strong client-facing capability — PM/PE experience highly regarded.
* A proven ability to manage projects end-to-end with commercial awareness.
* An established industry network and strong relationship-building skills.
* Leadership qualities: charismatic, outgoing, collaborative, people-focused.
* Ability to present business cases, contribute to bids and drive business growth.
