Primary objective
Provide support to ICT Service Management section to ensure high availability and maximum effectiveness of systems and information
and communications technology for the Northern Territory Government.
Context statement
ICT Services provides ICT hardware and software services to client agencies to meet business requirements. This includes end user services
such as the ICT Service Centre, End User Computing, Network Management, Voice and Telecommunications including internet. This
position is in the ICT Service Management unit and works closely with the Service Providers and Service Delivery teams on a variety of
both steady state and project activities. The position operates in a centralised, outsourced ICT environment that may require occasional
out-of-hours work.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate and advise on Microsoft Enterprise licencing, including identifying and implementing process improvements.
2. Provide advice regarding the design, delivery and quality of all of government ICT service integration delivery and management
requirements.
3. Provide high level support and collaborate with teams across the Division for the effective delivery of services.
4. Support the Service Improvement Manager in Hardware, Warehousing and ICT Inventory management.
5. Assist with Major Projects, Service Transition and End to End management services provided by external service providers to NTG.
6. Ensure services are delivered in accordance with Service Level Agreements and resolve non-performance issues with service providers,
escalation of ICT incidents and tasks.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with an innovative approach to problem solving that is outcomes driven
and client focussed.
2. Experienced in supporting the delivery of ICT services and solutions from an operational and/or project perspective in a shared services
environment.
3. Demonstrated planning, problem solving and organisational skills, including effective management of multiple high priority tasks to
meet conflicting deadlines.
4. High level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative professional
relationships with a range of stakeholders including external service providers.
5. Knowledge of and experience in delivering contemporary ICT and related service delivery frameworks, methodologies, processes /
tools including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
6. Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and accountability with a demonstrated solid work ethic.
7. Hold or have the ability to obtain a PF166 police clearance and NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card).
8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of Commitment to Service, Innovation, Ethical Practice,
Accountability, Impartiality, Diversity and Respect.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in Information Technology, ITIL or relevant discipline.
2. Knowledge of Northern Territory Government business environment and the supporting ICT structure.
3. Current experience with managing Microsoft’s suite of products is highly advantageous.
