About the Role
The CFO Advisory team at BDO Brisbane partners with clients across public, corporate and non‐profit sectors to strengthen financial management, governance, and accountability.
What You'll Work On
* Accounting and audit readiness (including mandatory sustainability reporting)
* Strategic accounting advice (technical and tactical engagements)
* Finance function transformation and finance business partnering
* Finance systems selection and improvement projects
* Accounting and financial governance and management
* Transaction‐related accounting and finance function support
* Corporate/Finance function establishment (new special purpose entities)
Due to an exciting period of growth, we have multiple opportunities within our CFO Advisory team in Brisbane across Consultant, Senior Consultant and Assistant Manager levels. You'll gain exposure to a broad mix of engagements and work closely with finance and business leaders to deliver practical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of engagements that improve finance function processes, system utilisation, governance, and management/corporate reporting
* Work directly with client finance teams and senior leaders to understand current‐state challenges and deliver practical, fit‐for‐purpose improvements
* Contribute to finance function establishment or transformation triggered by machinery‐of‐government changes (new entities) or corporate transactions/restructures
* Provide hands‐on support to finance teams to execute, improve and embed key processes
* Assist with analysis, documentation and development of client deliverables
* Collaborate with colleagues across Advisory to deliver integrated, end‐to‐end solutions
* Build trusted relationships with clients through high‐quality, practical delivery
About You
* Background in Audit or Business Services or other professional services teams, or experience in finance roles within an organisation's finance team
* CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion)
* Interest in working closely with clients and applying your accounting expertise to solve real business problems
* Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with finance stakeholders
* Analytical mindset, with the ability to understand root causes and develop practical solutions
* Collaborative, adaptable and motivated by variety and problem‐solving
