About the role
We are seeking a Site Supervisor to support the delivery of high‐quality visitor experiences at Old Melbourne Gaol, one of the NTAV's significant heritage properties. In this role you will be tasked with overall supervision of the site. Working closely with staff and volunteers, you will lead and guide the delivery of high‐quality experiences for our visitors. You will be a confident and capable leader, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to coordinate a team and a range of activities across the site. This is a part‐time opportunity (0.7 FTE) working Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Responsibilities
* Supervising the day‐to‐day operations of the site.
* Preparing and coordinating the schedule of activities.
* Maintaining a high standard of presentation across the site.
* Overseeing the use of cash registers and POS systems.
* Maintaining accurate visitation records and providing reports as required.
* Supporting, motivating and working collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
* Contributing to the ongoing improvement of site operations and customer service.
* Identifying and proactively managing health and safety and environmental risks to ensure the safety and security of the site, staff and visitors.
About you
* A genuine passion for heritage and a desire to share this with others.
* Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional manner.
* Demonstrated experience in customer service and retail environments.
* Experience within tourism, hospitality or service‐based industries.
* Strong organisational and coordination skills.
* Proven ability to manage customer interactions with professionalism and care.
* The ability to take responsibility for site safety and security.
* Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong time management and problem‐solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
