The Role
Our range of Drug Treatment Services consists of Intake and Assessment, Care Recovery Coordination, Non-Residential Withdrawal, Therapeutic Day Program, Drug and Alcohol Counselling and Opioid Replacement Therapy (ORT) for adults.
The Therapeutic Day Program provides intensive, structured intervention. This involves the use of motivational enhancement, cognitive behavioural therapies and individual and group counselling, self-help and peer support.
Therapeutic day rehabilitation aims to promote sustainable recovery through innovative, evidence-based programs that maintain a person's connections with family, friends and community
The Principal Practitioner (AOD) role provides specialised practice advice to both the AOD and family violence (FV) workforces across the Mallee. This role will work within SCHS but will also provide consultation to other funded AOD and family violence services in the above catchment.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Nursing, Community Services, Social Work or relevant discipline.
* Experience working in the AOD sector particularly working with clients with high risk and complex presentations.
* Demonstrated experience in facilitating professional development opportunities and building capability and capacity at a sector level and within teams
* Experience in the effective provision of AOD secondary consultation advice
* Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
