The Perioperative Department requires a skilled Area Leader to ensure seamless operations. Reporting directly to the Perioperative Services Director, you will oversee daily staffing and communicate effectively to maintain efficient lists. This role involves leading pre- and post-operative care, managing theatre nursing staff, and collaborating closely with skilled surgeons and anaesthetists. Key responsibilities include working in partnership with the Perioperative Services Team and Clinical Risk department, ensuring high-quality standards are met, and providing leadership and management to departments within the Perioperative Unit.
As an Area Leader, you will work closely with the Learning and Development team to implement educational programs and workforce development initiatives. You will also be responsible for patient safety, quality assurance, workforce management, Visiting Medical Officer satisfaction, patient experience, and effective financial stewardship. A strong background in theatre nursing and current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) are essential requirements.
