The Team:

The Telehealth and Virtual Care team play a pivotal role in supporting the Virtual Care Program, a statewide initiative aimed at helping clinical services deliver healthcare closer to patients’ homes through digital platforms. Based across Tasmania, including Hobart and Launceston, the team ensures the smooth operation of telehealth services by:

- Coordinating and supporting telehealth clinics and virtual care sessions.
- Training clinical and administrative staff in telehealth systems and equipment.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting video conferencing technologies.
- Building strong relationships with clinicians, patients, and administrative teams to enhance service delivery.

Their work significantly improves accessibility, convenience, and patient outcomes, especially for those in remote or rural areas. The team is known for its collaborative spirit, technical expertise, and commitment to innovation in digital health.

The Role:

Provide coordination, support and training to clinical and administrative staff, to facilitate the expansion of Telehealth capability across different Department of Health (DoH) care settings. This role is based in the South.

Work with clinical staff to ensure the smooth operation of Telehealth clinics and/or services across the region, including support and monitoring of video conference sessions, assistance with equipment setup, training and bookings.

You will need to:

- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a range of clinical and health care professionals, patients and administrative staff.
- Provide advice to clinicians regarding the suitability, advantages and disadvantages between face-to-face and Telehealth consultations.
- Provide support for the successful operation of Telehealth capability including training, bookings and video conference connection support.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 April 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
