About the opportunity
Gosford Hospital's Anatomical Pathology Department is seeking an Administrative Officer to fill a permanent part‐time position within the Central Coast Local Health District. Based at Gosford Hospital, you will provide timely and accurate administrative support to Pathologists, the Laboratory Manager, Scientists, and technical staff, including preparing reports using medical terminology skills.
The administration team consists of three part‐time employees, so we are seeking someone who is organised and flexible, with the ability to support the team as operational needs arise. What you'll be doing
The Administration Officers provide effective administrative and office support services for the Anatomical Pathology Department at Gosford Hospital whilst ensuring all tasks undertaken are managed in a timely manner. Added duties include slide filing, preparing histopathology and cytopathology cases for multi-disciplinary meetings (MDT's) and sending cases for expert second opinions.

Qualifications and Experience
* Proven computer literacy and strong keyboard skills with speed and accuracy, including use of digital transcription equipment such as Speech Exec, Olympus, Winscribe or Dragon One
* Demonstrated experience as an Administrative Officer, including strong medical terminology skills with an emphasis in Histopathology
* Proven experience working in a high‐pressure area with a busy workload. Knowledge of clinical and corporate applications, work practices and their relationship to other health care processes
* Demonstrated ability and initiative to work both as part of a team and independently to support your team members and management, with sound knowledge of administrative procedures in a health setting
* Demonstrated strong customer focus and commitment to providing exceptional services to all clients both internal and external to NSW Health Pathology
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to be capable of professionally liaising and working with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation in a technical and business context
