Electrical Quality Inspector – Rail & Transport Equipment
We’re currently recruiting for an Electrical focused Quality Inspector to join our client, a leading organisation supporting major public transport upgrades across Melbourne’s rail, tram and bus assets. You’ll take responsibility for verifying the quality of installation and commissioning works, ensuring all activities meet the required mechanical, electrical and functional standards.
Please note that this is a field-base contract role, initially 3 months, with likelihood of extension.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct independent quality inspections and audits on completed installation works, ensuring works are completed to approved standards and documentation.
- Review mechanical, electrical and functional elements of completed works, verifying compliance with design and installation specifications.
- Identify, document and report any issues or safety concerns to the relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and audit reports, ensuring traceability and compliance with quality management requirements.
- Ensure all works meet relevant electrical and mechanical standards while maintaining compliance with site access and induction requirements.
Skills and Requirements
- Electrical trade qualification or relevant engineering background (A Grade licence beneficial but not essential)
- Robust understanding of quality assurance and compliance processes
- Knowledge of electrical installations, commissioning and verification practices
- Current driver’s licence with own car to drive to sites as required
- Ability to obtain required site inductions (training provided if needed)
