About the Opportunity
This is a rare chance to step into a senior culinary leadership role at one of Melbourne's most exciting soon to be opened hospitality venues.
This role plays a key part in refining standards, leading the team and continuing to shape the culinary direction of The Saint Hotel. Working closely with our senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving quality, consistency and performance across all kitchen operations.
You'll be instrumental in curating innovative and compelling menus that reflect the venue's vision while responding to seasonal produce and evolving guest expectations. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to build and mentor a high-performing kitchen team from the ground up, creating a strong foundation for long-term success.
You'll bring strong leadership, creativity and operational expertise, fostering a high-performance kitchen culture built on respect, accountability and excellence.
What You'll Do
* Lead and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
* Deliver consistent, high-quality food across all services
* Refine and execute menus in line with the venue's direction
* Train, mentor and manage kitchen team performance
* Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards
* Manage stock control, ordering, wastage and food costs
* Oversee prep planning, service flow and kitchen organisation
* Build a positive, motivated and professional kitchen culture
About You
You're an experienced, hands‐on kitchen leader who leads by example. You take pride in both people development and operational excellence. You'll also bring:
* 5+ years' experience in professional commercial kitchens
* Proven experience as a Head Chef
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* A calm, structured approach under pressure
* A sound understanding of Australia food safety and WHS requirements
* Availability across nights,weekendsand rotating rosters
