Overview

Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M;) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. IB&M; Finance supports the business in providing financial control, financial analysis and insight, product control, regulatory accounting and related project and strategy implementation support. Product Control is a global team responsible for the independent oversight and financial control of the Global Markets business, including daily P&L; production and analysis, month end accounting, General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations and other tasks across the full product range.

Responsibilities

- Lead the daily and monthly P&L; reporting and reconciliation for Commodities & Carbon desks.
- Partner with trading desks, finance, and risk teams to investigate and resolve trade, position, and cash exceptions.
- Drive system and process enhancements to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic input into new product initiatives, including carbon markets and electricity expansion.
- Manage audit walkthroughs and support governance forums such as NFRC and PC forums.
- Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and contribute to non-financial risk reporting.

Qualifications

- Typically 5+ years in Product Control or a closely related field, ideally at Senior Manager level.
- Strong understanding of traded market risk products, including complex derivatives.
- Proven leadership experience with inclusive and outcome-driven style.
- Demonstrated success in delivering systems/process uplift and automation, using VBA, SQL, Tableau Prep, PowerBI, Alteryx or similar tools.
- Deep knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Accounting qualification – CPA, CA, CFA or similar.
