Selection Criteria
* SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills; demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.
* SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high‐impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating their impact on learning growth.
* SC3: Demonstrated experience monitoring and assessing student learning; using data to inform practice and providing feedback to students and parents.
* SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community.
* SC5: Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values; reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.
Role

The classroom teacher classification comprises range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is planning, preparation and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills. Experienced teachers may undertake additional duties beyond rostered teaching as appropriate to their salary range, qualifications, training and experience.

Classroom Teacher Range 2

Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes in line with the school's strategic plan. They contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.

* Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet diverse student needs.
* Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers, supporting their critical reflection and professional growth.
* Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies that shape individual and school professional learning.
* Supervise and train one or more student teachers.
* Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches and achieve targets related to improving learning outcomes.
Classroom Teacher Range 1

Primary focus is on developing skills and competencies to become an effective practitioner with structured support from more experienced teachers, and delivering programs to achieve outcomes.

* Responsible for classroom management, subject content, and teaching practice.
* Support policy development, project teams and co‐curriculum activities.
* Plan and teach student groups in one or more subjects, participate in induction and professional learning activities.
* Assist in implementing curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy across the school.
Responsibilities
* Direct teaching of student groups and individual students.
* Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curricular programme.
* Undertaking other classroom teaching‐related and organisational duties as determined by the Principal.
* Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
* Undertaking other non‐teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach or with demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area.

Targeted Financial Incentives (TFI)

Payments and support:

* A pro‐rated commencement incentive payment up to $50,000 (before‐tax).
* Reimbursement of relocation expenses up to $5,000 and support to identify suitable housing.
* $10,000 (before‐tax) retention payments pro‐rated for less than full‐time, at the conclusion of the second, third and fourth years, up to $30,000 (before‐tax); each payment contingent on successful milestones.

TFI eligibility:

* Must be a new employee to the school.
* Commits to a minimum of 2 years of employment.
* Has not previously received $50,000 or more in TFI payments within the last 5 years.
* Remains employed for 2 years to receive the initial retention payment, and continues for subsequent years.
Regional Relocation Incentives (RRI)

Payments and support:

* Reimbursement of relocation expenses up to $5,000 and support to identify suitable housing.
* $10,000 (before‐tax) retention payments pro‐rated for less than full‐time, at the conclusion of the second, third and fourth years, up to $30,000 (before‐tax); each payment contingent on successful milestones.
