We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Scheduler/Maintenance Planners, ideally with experience in field operations or maintenance planning.

These are current roles being introduced as we develop this capability across 8 Observing Operation Hubs around Australia. You will be part of a national cohort who will actively contribute to the Bureau's uplift in planning and scheduling maturity over the next 2 years.

The primary focus of the role is to develop, prioritise, organise, schedule and monitor work orders to support the delivery of preventive maintenance, calibration, inspection, installation/upgrades and repair of our weather observing equipment, in accordance with the Bureau's Maintenance Program and Service Level Agreements.

Whilst working under the general guidance of the Hub Manager, the role will be significantly autonomous. It is a lead role in each Hub and will not have direct reports initially, but the function may grow in time.

**Who are you?**

**Who are we?**
The Observing Operations Hubs, located in each Capital City and Cairns, are the Bureau of Meteorology's Maintenance Authority.

Staff based at these Hubs travel far and wide utilising 4WD's, plane's, boats, and helicopters to maintain service delivery within the various instrumentation networks. These include:

- Rain Radars
- Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
- Upper-Air monitoring systems (sounding balloons)
- Sea Level Monitoring Stations
- Wave Buoys
- Satellite ground reception and space weather instruments
- Wave height buoys
- Flood warning / rainfall monitoring systems
- Co-operative observers, volunteer rainfall stations
- Communications, telemetry and instrumentation systems

The combined areas of responsibility across the eight Hubs encompasses all of Australia, its offshore islands, and Australian Antarctic Territory. We are a national workforce and staff can travel to other parts of Australia on occasion, to support the other eight Hubs around the country.

We offer specialised, in-house competency-based training on all our equipment and systems and will ensure you have the necessary tools and skills to undertake this work.

We strive to deliver exceptional customer service, as we engage with stakeholders, contractors, support staff and the Australian public.

We promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that prioritises the health, safety and wellbeing of all our staff.

You will report to and be mentored by the Hub Manager.
