8 at Trinity is seeking a skilled Prep Chef / Prep Cook to take ownership of daily kitchen preparation at one of the most iconic hospitality venues in the Lake Macquarie region. This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys structured kitchen preparation, organisation and consistency, and is looking for excellent work‐life balance with mostly daytime shifts and weekday work.
You will work closely with the Executive Chef and senior kitchen team to ensure all preparation is completed to exacting standards before service begins.

THE ROLE
As Prep Chef, you will take responsibility for the organisation and execution of kitchen preparation to support our busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities Include
1. Leading and organising daily kitchen prep
2. Preparing ingredients, sauces, proteins and components to the specifications set by the Executive Chef
3. Ensuring all preparation is completed consistently, efficiently and to the highest standards
4. Monitoring stock levels of prepared items and coordinating production levels for upcoming service
5. Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation standards
6. Assisting with ordering, stock rotation and waste control
7. Overseeing and guiding junior kitchen staff during prep periods
8. Supporting the wider kitchen team when required

About You
20. Experience as a chef, cook or prep chef in a busy kitchen
21. Strong organisation and prep management skills
22. Ability to maintain consistency and quality at scale
23. Good leadership and communication skills when directing junior staff
24. Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen systems
25. Reliable, efficient and detail‐oriented
