About The Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of People, Culture, and Safety, this pivotal Safety Advisor role will play a key part in shaping Busselton Water's commitment to safety excellence. You will leverage your established expertise in safety governance, compliance, and continuous improvement to elevate our organisational capability. Your remit includes designing and delivering proactive health and wellbeing strategies, cultivating a strong safety culture, and ensuring our workplace practices consistently meet and exceed legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Busselton Water's Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice.
* Provide tactical strategies in WHS policy and procedures, psychosocial risk management, and safety compliance frameworks.
* Manage and deliver targeted safety training (including high risk procedures), competency systems, matrices, toolbox topics, and awareness campaigns.
* Advise leadership on legislative obligations, incident management, investigations, lessons learned, contractor safety, high-risk, and emergency planning.
* Oversee WHS governance documentation, performance monitoring, and reporting, analytics and trends for leadership and committee meetings.
* Champion a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous learning across the PCS team, including providing coverage and support for the People and Culture portfolio.
* Support field operations in Safety and HSR's to promote collaboration and consultation to achieve targets and outcomes.
* Positively and proactively support digital systems implementation and training to support knowledge for ensuring standardised reporting.
* Lead system audits, compliance assessments, and performance reviews to ensure safety outcomes are visible and continuously improved.

Selection Criteria:

* Diploma or higher degree qualification in WHS, Risk Management, or a direct related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in WHS roles, with demonstrated systems leadership.
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with high attention to detail, reporting trends and data accuracy.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in WHS legislative terminology with the ability to interpret into practical strategies for understanding and application.
* Proven ability to uphold high standards of professional conduct, maintaining impartiality and objectivity to constructively drive effective safety outcomes.
* Commitment to fostering a respectful work environment and proactively promoting the PCS portfolio for effective team cohesion.
* Strong analytical, communication, influencing and coaching skills.
* Advanced computer literacy in WHS software, analytics, and reporting tools.
* In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice.
* Current First Aid certificate and valid driver's licence.
* (Highly Desirable) Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
* (Highly Desirable) Experience working within the Water Industry.
