Restaurant Manager – Barassi's Restaurant
Barassi's Restaurant is one of Cairns' largest dining rooms within a well-appointed Club. More than just a restaurant or café, our dining areas are a true community hub where members and guests come together to Meet, Drink, Eat and Play.
We are now seeking an experienced and mature Restaurant Manager to lead the team at Barassi's, ensuring that our dining experience continues to be a cornerstone of the Club. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled hospitality leader who thrives on creating exceptional customer experiences and managing a busy, high-quality food and beverage operation.
The Role
This is a long-term permanent, full-time role overseeing the day-to-day restaurant operations, working closely with both our front-of-house and kitchen teams. As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for driving service standards, leading and developing staff, and ensuring the smooth delivery of all customer interactions in a fast-paced and welcoming environment.
You will play a hands-on leadership role across service periods, ensuring consistency in hospitality, attention to detail, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant and dining operations.
- Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver excellent service.
- Assist with staff rosters, recruitment, and performance expectations.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and bar staff to ensure efficiency during busy service periods.
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and resolve issues effectively.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and food service regulations.
- Contribute to menu planning, promotions, and the overall success of the dining experience.
Requirements
- Strong background as a Restaurant Manager (minimum 2 years)
- Experience in a busy club, hotel, or large restaurant operation.
- Maturity, professionalism, and a hands-on management style.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including evenings and weekends.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is essential.
