About The Role
This role reports into the Manager, Solution Delivery who is responsible for supervision and project work, and has a dotted line report to the Manager, Technology Project Office who guides best practice and BA effectiveness. The Senior Business Analyst's focus is to lead the discovery of customer and business needs, analyse and document requirements, then communicate these to architects, developers and testers to ensure solutions that achieve our goals and deliver the best business outcomes can be built.
Tasks And Responsibilities
* Engage and Analyse: Lead collaboration with Product Owners and business SMEs to understand customer needs, business drivers, and priorities.
* Facilitate Discovery: Conduct workshops to ensure shared understanding of scope, requirements, and objectives among stakeholders.
* Define Requirements: Break down complex business problems and designs into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria and supporting artefacts.
* Manage Risks and Dependencies: Identify and communicate project risks, issues, and dependencies early.
* Shape Solutions: Work with project teams to design feasible, viable solutions and support Agile ceremonies (e.g., backlog refinement, sprint planning).
* Drive Process Improvement: Analyse current state, recommend optimisations, and document future‐state processes through updated process maps.
* Support Delivery: Assist the scrum team with analysis, testing, and development tasks as needed.
* Mentor and Lead: Coach Business Analysts, promote best practices, and contribute to onboarding and the Business Analysis community of practice.
Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, IT or similar field or relevant experience.
* Minimum 4 years of experience as a business analyst.
* Experience in managing and negotiating with multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in data analysis, tools and techniques.
* Strong experience in designing and implementing processes across multi‐functional areas.
* Effective communication and leadership skills.
* Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem‐solving skills.
* Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
* Previous experience in the Financial Services sector.
* Knowledge of the Fleet Management and Novated Leasing is ideal.
* Familiarity with Agile tools including Jira, Confluence, Visio, Miro.
* Experience with Domain Modelling.
* Formal training in Business Process Modelling.
* Experience managing and mentoring other BA's.
