As a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager, you will oversee the operations of a large-scale cattle farm in Central NSW. The property spans over 4,000 hectares and runs 4000 head of cattle.
Farm Operations
* The role involves key responsibilities in managing and monitoring cattle health, nutrition, and performance.
* You will be overseeing breeding programs, including joining, calving, and weaning.
* Drafting, yard work, feeding, and paddock rotation are also part of your duties.
* Maintaining detailed records is essential to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
* Mustering (bikes) is another critical task that requires physical fitness and endurance.
* You will also oversee fodder cropping activities, including planting and spraying.
* In addition, you will operate and maintain farm machinery and infrastructure.
* Your role will involve supervising and working alongside the owner, staff, and contractors.
Requirements
* A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role with a strong background in cattle work is required.
* Stud knowledge is desirable, but not essential.
* Proven ability in processing, branding, and weaning is necessary for success in this position.
* Experience with property maintenance, including water and fencing infrastructure, is highly valued.
* Proficiency in machinery operations is essential for effective farm management.
