Job Title: Policy and Legislation Advisor
Are you an expert in policy formulation and legislative services? We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Legislation Advisor to join our team. This role is responsible for formulating effective legislative and statutory solutions, working closely with senior colleagues to advise on policy and strategy.
The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a dynamic team that works across various subject matter areas, including occupational health and safety and workers' compensation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading or supporting the development of WorkSafe's responses to emerging priority and critical issues.
* Undertaking research and analysis on relevant academic literature, case law, industry trends, and research in other jurisdictions on best practice approaches.
* Preparing key legislative and regulatory policy, including briefing papers, policy review papers, and submissions to government and parliament.
* Supporting the preparation of briefings for national forums and formulating policy positions.
