Lead Commentator - NNSWF Premier Football Competitions

What is the role's primary purpose?
Northern NSW Football seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to bring the excitement of premier football to life as lead commentators. These roles will be the voices of our most prestigious football competitions, including senior NPL Men's and Women's leagues, and other premier matches and events streamed by NNSWF.
The successful candidate will be part of our Communications, Media & Marketing team, ensuring fans enjoy a professional, entertaining and insightful commentary experience that celebrates the skill, strategy and drama of northern NSW's top football matches.
What will you be doing as a Lead Commentator?
This role involves live broadcasting, event representation and fostering fan engagement to deliver a high-quality experience for NNSWF's audiences.
Responsibilities include:
Pre-Match Preparation
* Research teams, players, storylines and key statistics to provide insightful context and engaging commentary.
Live Match Commentary
* Provide professional, energetic and engaging live play-by-play commentary and analysis for NNSWF's premier matches, ensuring fans at home feel part of the action.
* Work closely with camera operators, producers and technical staff to deliver a seamless and polished streaming experience.
Event Representation
* Be an ambassador for NNSWF, representing the organisation at key events and showcasing the best of football in our region.
Post-Match Contributions
* Contribute to post-match summaries, interviews or feature pieces to highlight players, coaches and standout moments where necessary.
Fan Engagement
* Use commentary to connect with and energise fans, fostering a sense of community and pride in northern NSW's football talent.
About you:
You are a confident communicator with a natural talent for storytelling and a deep understanding of football. You thrive in live broadcast environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality content.
Key Attributes and Skills:
* A deep love for football and a strong knowledge of the game at all levels, particularly NNSWF premier competitions.
* Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a flair for exciting and professional storytelling.
* Strong ability to analyse and articulate game strategies, player performances and key match moments.
* Confidence in live broadcast environments, including the ability to adapt under pressure.
* Proven experience in sports commentary, public speaking or a related role preferred.
* High level of professionalism and ability to positively represent NNSWF.
* Excellent research and preparation skills.
* Ability to work weekends, evenings and travel as required.
The Fine Print:
* This role involves work outside of traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Travel to match locations across northern NSW may be required.
