At Icon, our people are our greatest asset. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled design manager to join our growing construction team. As a Construction Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all design activities across multiple construction projects, ensuring that all design work is completed in accordance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee design activities across multiple construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations.
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors for timely, cost-effective project delivery.
* Develop and maintain project design schedules and budgets, providing regular updates on progress and potential issues to senior management.
* Review project specifications and contracts, identifying design requirements and constraints, and resolving design-related issues.
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date project design records and documents, and manage the design process, including development, review, and approval.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
* Current experience working for a head contractor
* 8+ years of experience in design management in the construction industry
* Experience working on large-scale construction projects from $100m
* Ideally have experience across residential, defence, health or education projects
* Must have previous experience working for a Builder / Head Contractor
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
* Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
* Familiarity with building codes and standards
