The Role
The role is responsible for leading the coordination and delivery of Joint Logistics sustainment product and Fundamental Inputs to Capability requirements across the lifecycle, ensuring outcomes are integrated, achievable and aligned to Defence priorities. Key duties include preparing and coordinating high-quality submissions for Capability Manager approval, engaging with stakeholders across multiple groups, reporting risks and dependencies, and providing clear, evidence-based advice to support decision-making. The role requires strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a complex and dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong strategic thinking, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and proven experience in complex project or program management. They will be adaptable, outcomes-focused and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

About our Team
Logistics Capability Branch (LCB) act as the Capability Manager for the Joint Logistics Program. LCB is responsible for defining, integrating and delivering capability outcomes that are sustainable, operationally viable and aligned to Defence priorities. The team is responsible for capability realisation planning and leads the planning and coordination of sustainment product and FIC requirements across the full lifecycle, including requirements setting, acquisition, and introduction into service, sustainment and future development.

The team works closely with delivery partners and stakeholders to align requirements, report risk and dependencies, and ensure capability is fit for purpose and supportable in operational environments. A key current priority is progressing the project toward Government acquisition approval. This involves developing robust submissions, coordinating inputs across multiple groups, validating capability requirements and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and approval frameworks.
Through this work, the team enables clear, evidence-based advice to support decision-makers and positions the project for timely approval, successful acquisition and effective introduction into service.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a high-performing professional with strong strategic thinking and excellent stakeholder engagement skills to lead sustainment and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) planning for a complex Defence capability.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in complex project management and an understanding of acquisition, sustainment and disposal. They will be highly analytical, able to assess risks, dependencies and interrelationships across FIC elements, and provide evidence-based advice to inform decision-making.
Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and operate confidently in a dynamic, integrated environment. The successful candidate will exercise sound professional judgement, manage competing priorities with independence, and be committed to delivering operationally viable, supportable capability outcomes.
