Cyber & Infrastructure Security | Critical Infra Partnership & Policy | Critical Infra Security Policy | Critical Infra Strategy & Guidance
The Critical Infrastructure Security Policy Branch focuses on collaboration with industry through the Trusted Information Sharing Network, with international partners including the Critical 5, and through various communication methods.
The Branch leads reforms to the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 and delivers the Critical Infrastructure Resilience Strategy, working with owners of Australia's critical infrastructure to ensure resilience.
Positions may be across one of our five Sections:
TheCritical Infrastructure Strategic Policy Sectionleads policy reform and administration of the SOCI Act; develops guidance materials for stakeholders.
TheIndependent Review into the SOCI Act Sectionmanages engagement of an Independent Reviewer and supports the reviewer.
TheCritical Infrastructure Strategy and Guidance Sectionprovides strategic engagement with expert groups and policy guidance for industry on SOCI Act.
TheCommunication and Coordination Sectiondesigns materials to support risk management by critical infrastructure owners/operators and engages internationally, including through the Critical 5.
TheTrusted Information Sharing Sectionengages with industry and manages the Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN).

Our ideal candidate
Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018.
Ability to develop and deliver complex policy advice or manage programs/projects with defined requirements, scope and objectives.
Experience in managing stakeholder engagement and networks.
Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to respond to evolving national security challenges in a changing environment.
Duties and responsibilities
The duties depend on the section placed in, but broadly for an APS 6 in the Branch:
Support engagement with industry partners and maintain strong relationships.
Manage delivery of programs, projects and activities relevant to policy priorities.
Manage engagement functions such as secretariat duties and stakeholder communications.
Contribute to policy development to reform the SOCI Act, including drafting amendments and guidance, across Strategic Guidance and Strategic Policy sections.
Engage with client-facing areas locally to provide advice and guidance.
Additional information
Desirable but not essential — legal background/qualifications are desirable for roles in the Strategic Guidance and Strategic Policy sections.

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate must obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
ABF Workers will be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
Home Affairs Workers will be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an ESC may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, determined by the delegate.
