Job Description
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be a key team member of the machining team at our Moorabbin facility, responsible for programming, setting and operating 3 & 5 axis CNC machines to produce high end components to the highest standard, consistently meeting our clients' detailed specifications. We have an opportunity for a CNC machinist for both small and large machines on day and afternoon shift.
The role responsibilities include:
* Applying a "safety before production" mindset, always operating machines safely, competently and in accordance with Marand and industry standards
* Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
* Taking care to always follow the standards established by the internal work instructions.
* Ensuring your workspace remains clean and clear, enabling you to operate safely and take pride in your area.
* Applying your technical knowledge to correctly select and use appropriate measuring equipment to ensure your work is compliant with specifications.
* Working alongside your team mates to make a positive contribution to the group's output and results.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required skills, experience and qualifications:
* Solid experience programming and operating CNC milling machines within an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
* Previous CAM programming experience preferred. MasterCam, Delcam (PowerMill) or similar
* Strong computer skills and experience reading and interpreting engineering documents and drawings.
* Qualification in Fitting and Turning.
* Strong commitment to quality and keen attention to detail which fits perfectly with precision work.
* Medium to large 3 &5 axis machine experience preferred.
* Experience in operating machines with Heidenhein, Siemens &or Fanuc control preferred.
