About the Role (Senior Solution Architect)
The Senior Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in the presales and project delivery of solutions within Datacom’s Managed Operations line of business. The focus will be on business outcomes that can be realised by scoping projects which transform and mature customers’ IT environments and improve the overall end user experience/risk posture/service delivery. A strong commercial and pricing acumen is required to provide competitive services whilst ensuring Datacom’s profitability.
The role works with a wide customer base ranging from 150 to 60,000 seats across public and private sectors, including Health, Transport, Services, Finance, Infrastructure, and Government. Leverage expert technical knowledge of Datacom’s Managed Operations products and service offerings to develop statements of work, prepare bids, and support presales activities.
Locations: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. Flexible work arrangements are available.
Note: This position requires Australian Citizenship and the ability to achieve Australian Government Baseline clearance.

* Video conferencing solutions (Teams, Poly, StarLeaf, Cisco, Zoom)
* Enterprise mobility and endpoint management solutions (SCCM, Intune, etc.)
* Microsoft Windows end‑user OS configuration & deployment
* M365 security, backup & archive technologies
* Complementary competitor solutions (Mimecast, AvePoint, etc.)
* VDI & DaaS solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, etc.)
* Public cloud exposure (Azure, AWS, GCP)
* On‑premises to cloud and cloud‑to‑cloud migration paths using native Microsoft tools and third‑party tools
* Enterprise data backup, recovery & replication solutions (Veeam, NetBackup, etc.)
* Enterprise storage solutions (Dell, Lenovo, NetApp, HPE, Nutanix, Wasabi)
* Hyperconverged Infrastructure Platforms (Nutankix, Dell, HPE, Azure)
* Oracle hosting & management solutions (iSeries, Oracle Cloud)
* Linux & Unix OS (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, etc.)
* Database solutions (MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite)
* Middleware solutions (Red Hat OpenShift, Oracle Fusion, Kubernetes, IBM WebSphere)
Qualifications
* Extensive experience designing, installing, and supporting Microsoft, Oracle, or VMware solution offerings
* Over 5 years of scoping and pricing managed services engagements
* Over 5 years presenting solutions and service offerings to customers
* Demonstrable history of creating high‑quality SORs, SOWs, HLDs and proposals for clients outsourcing IT
* Strong understanding of Fixed‑Price vs Time & Materials SOWs and when to choose each
* Strong understanding of pricing project and managed services engagements
Good working knowledge of enterprise lifecycle management areas: mobile, desktop, cloud, hardware, software, identity, security, sales and project lifecycles.
Extensive knowledge of key technologies: Windows Desktop/Server OS, Microsoft Infrastructure, Teams Voice, Email, Azure, 365, Microsoft Databases.
Extensive knowledge of hybrid and native cloud environments; understanding of on‑premises to cloud and cloud‑to‑cloud migration paths; industry‑recognised security frameworks; networking; commercial mindset; influential; proactive and urgency orientation.
