Yara Pilbara is part of Yara International, a global crop nutrition company. The Pilbara site is one of the world's largest ammonia production facilities, with downstream processing through the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara is also developing a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Yara Pilbara is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated Chemical Engineering student to gain hands‐on industry experience through our Vacation Student Program. This is your chance to apply your academic knowledge in a real‐world setting while being supported by experienced professionals in a dynamic and diverse workplace.
About the Program
Our 12‐week Vacation Program is designed to provide meaningful, practical experience and professional development. During your time with us, you will:
* Work closely with a dedicated mentor (Yara Process Engineer) and an assigned buddy (Graduate or Employee).
* Contribute to two engineering projects, gaining valuable hands‐on experience.
* Develop and deliver a project presentation to the Yara Pilbara Leadership Team.
* Receive structured progress reviews and feedback throughout the program.
* Build both your technical expertise and professional skills in a supportive environment.
Program dates: December 2026 – February 2027 (aligned with your university break).
About You
We're looking for students who are eager to learn, take initiative, and embody Yara's core values of Accountability, Collaboration, Ambition, and Curiosity.
To be successful, you will:
* Be in your penultimate or final year of a Master's or Honours degree in Professional Engineering specializing in Chemical or Process Engineering.
* Be studying at a Western Australian‐based university (preferred).
* Hold permanent working rights in Australia.
* Be willing to relocate to Karratha, WA for the duration of the program (12 weeks).
* Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to quality.
* Show curiosity in using AI (MS CoPilot) to improve personal and team productivity.
* Provide a cover letter and resume as part of your application.
* Have a demonstrated employment history (preferred).
