Therapeutic Counsellor for Children and Families

We are seeking a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor to join our team in Karratha. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families affected by family violence.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, psychology, or counselling, with experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds. A degree qualification and registration with a relevant accredited peak body are essential requirements.

* Degree qualification in social work, psychology, or counselling

* Strong history of working with children and families from diverse backgrounds


About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and cultural competence. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering therapeutic interventions and group work to children who have experienced family violence, as well as providing secondary consultations to members of the team.

The role also involves establishing and maintaining resources relevant to supporting children who are experiencing family violence, and providing referrals to relevant support agencies. Proactive participation in networks improving outcomes for women and children experiencing family violence is also expected.

A commitment to trauma-informed care and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and families are essential qualities for this role.
