The Emergency Department at Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and outcome driven Clinical Nurse - Education Facilitator.

This is a permanent part-time role, working 16 hours per fortnight.

The Clinical Nurse provides clinical expertise, support and education nursing staff within the unit to ensure best practice and quality patient care to patients of all ages and cultural groups, recognising the importance of individuals and their families.

About the opportunity

The Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department (ED) provides treatment to approximately 80 000 patients per calendar year. The type of treatment varies according to the presenting complaint of the patient. The priority of treatment is indicated according to the triage category allocated to the patient on their arrival at ED.

- Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 p.h. (NG6-1)
- 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
- Professional Development leave
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
- Adult Life Support certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment (PDF) ( https://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0038/475778/thhscli040151.pdf ) procedure.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- Commitment to completion of Quality projects within the Emergency Department linked to a National Standards. Maintenance of CN portfolio.
- This is a VPD risk role.
