Credit Manager

Responsibilities
* Lead the day‐to‐day credit management and debt collection activities across Oceania, ensuring effective control of Accounts Receivable and minimising credit risk.
* Assess customer creditworthiness, manage credit limits and terms, and conduct regular credit reviews to support informed business decisions.
* Monitor aged receivables and collection performance, ensuring timely follow‐up, escalation of overdue accounts, and achievement of collection KPIs.
* Prepare and analyse credit control and Accounts Receivable reports, including DSO, ageing reports, and payment trends, providing insights and recommendations to management.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and external agencies to resolve payment issues and support business operations.
* Drive continuous improvement of credit control processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
* Lead, coach, and support the credit control team to achieve performance targets while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and OH&S requirements.
Qualifications
* 5‐7 years' experience in credit management, account management, customer service, or customer relationship management within a fast‐paced environment.
* Strong relationship‐building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to maintain positive customer relationships while managing difficult conversations and negotiations effectively.
* Proven experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to drive performance and achieve collection targets.
* Advanced Excel and reporting skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
* High attention to detail, strong problem‐solving capability, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and accuracy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive, resilient, and customer‐focused approach.
* A background or qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or Business, and/or previous experience within the shipping industry would be advantageous but are not essential.

* Applicants must hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency. New Zealand citizens intending to relocate permanently to Melbourne, Australia, are also encouraged to apply.
