Oncology Pharmacist - Slade Pharmacy, St Vincents Private, East Melbourne
We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a pharmacist to join our Slade Pharmacy team based onsite at the St Vincent's Private Hospital in East Melbourne. You will provide oncology pharmacy services to the Day Oncology Unit, ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines. In this role you will also provide remote clinical oncology services to our rural health client.
This role would suit either someone with previous hospital oncology experience or someone with clinical hospital experience wanting to gain expertise in the oncology space.
Key responsibilities
* Using MOSAIQ, coordinate and organise the supply of chemotherapy for the day oncology unit patients and inpatients
* Using CHARM, provide remote clinical oncology services to our rural health client in Kyneton. Note, travel from time to time to Kyneton may be required
* Participate in clinical screening of chemotherapy orders
* Provide efficient clinical pharmacy services
* Be efficient and effective at dispensing and distribution of medication
* Provide medication counselling & education to patients
* Work cooperatively and effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide advice regarding patient care
* Contribute to training and educational sessions for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals
* Assist to oversee imprest services and continuity of medication supply
* Consider financial implications of medication use in hospital and for patients obtaining the medicines in the community
* Assist in the financial management of our oncology service offering, including owning script management & brand compliance
Who are we looking for?
* Clinical hospital experience (mandatory)
* Hospital oncology experience (desired)
* Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
* Relevant Australian pharmacy experience
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Highly driven and enthusiastic
* High level of time management, planning and organisation ability
