We are a growing transport and logistics company with multiple depots South of the River, specialising in container transport throughout Western Australia. Our reputation has been built on exceptional communication, reliability, and honesty, and we're looking for an Operations Manager who shares those values.
This role requires a hands-on leader who is actively involved in the day-to-day operation, driving performance, maintaining compliance, and continuously improving efficiencies across the business.
You'll be actively involved in the daily running of our container division, working closely with drivers and customers to ensure freight moves efficiently and service levels remain exceptional.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily transport operations and driving operational efficiency across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Daily allocation and scheduling of container transport movements
* Managing driver workloads and fleet utilisation
* Monitoring and improving on-time delivery performance
* Coordinating wharf collections and ensuring service commitments are met
* Maintaining strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders
* Organising and maintaining truck and forklift servicing schedules
* Ensuring Hubfleet records and compliance requirements remain current
* Managing truck permits, Western Power permits, and operational compliance requirements
* Assisting with recruitment and onboarding of new drivers
* Organising and coordinating staff training and development
* Identifying operational improvements and efficiency opportunities
* Providing weekend operational coverage (remote arrangements available and discussed during the interview process)
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Previous experience in container transport operations
* Strong knowledge of Cargowise and 1-Stop systems
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the front
Desirable:
* Freight Tracker experience
* Experience managing transport compliance and permits
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience within transport and logistics
* Forklift Ticket
