The Role
This key role involves architecting, deploying, maintaining, and developing our resource information systems - ArcGIS Enterprise and GeoMaster. The responsibilities include implementing best practice architecture, managing server-side GIS technology, SQL databases, and related applications, as well as configuring mobile, web, and desktop GIS software to meet business requirements.
The incumbent will also contribute to activities and provide support for forest planning, operations, and management decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement best practice architecture for ArcGIS Enterprise and GeoMaster
* Manage and maintain server-side GIS technology, including SQL databases and related applications
* Normalise and centralise core datasets within an SQL environment
* Configure and develop mobile, web, and desktop GIS software to support business requirements
* Ongoing troubleshooting, maintenance, and development of Resource Systems (ArcGIS Enterprise and GeoMaster) to ensure timely and accurate spatial data access for staff
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you will require a relevant tertiary qualification in Spatial Sciences, IT, Geography, Natural Resource Management, or Environmental Science. Proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise suite of products, RDBMS, and SDE is essential. Database administration skills, GeoMaster forest management system skills, and programming and scripting would be advantageous.
Excellent communication skills are required, along with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Adaptability, organisational, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, are also essential.
