Role Overview
Report to the Project Manager and take end-to-end accountability for the on-site delivery of high-value, complex insurance repair projects across Sydney. This role requires technical building expertise, strict timeline management and empathetic stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
* On-Site Leadership: Coordinate and manage day-to-day trade operations across multiple concurrent Major Loss projects (up to $1M value).
* Subcontractor & WHS Management: Supervise a panel of pre-qualified subcontractors, ensuring uncompromising safety (WHS) and quality standards.
* Program & Schedule Maintenance: Drive project timelines to ensure works are completed on schedule, minimizing variations and business disruption.
* Stakeholder Relations: Act as the face of the business on-site, providing clear, professional, empathetic communication to policyholders, strata managers and commercial clients.
* Collaborative Reporting: Work closely with the estimating and project management teams to report on milestones, site progress and variations.
Candidate Requirements (Critical Criteria)
* Insurance Building Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in the Australian building insurance sector (applications lacking this background will not be considered).
* Major Loss Capability: Proven track record delivering complex claims or Major Loss projects up to $1M (e.g. severe fire, structural impact, major water ingress).
* Trade Background & Licensing: Carpentry or building trade qualification with a current NSW Supervisor Certificate or Builder's Licence.
* Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex Statements of Work (SOW), building codes and insurance construction methodologies.
* Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills with diplomacy and care when managing sensitive customer situations.
* Licensing: Current valid Australian Driver's Licence and White Card.
