About the Role
The Senior Physiotherapist role at Noarlunga Hospital provides assessment, intervention and management of patients presenting to the General Medical Ward, Surgical Specialty Unit and the Emergency Department as well as specialised consultation and skills to patients with age‐related diagnoses and patients with cognitive impairment.
In this role you will manage a case load of patients with complex needs, providing specialised clinical services to assist patient flow as required. You will be accountable for all aspects of the physiotherapy team function and promote an inter‐disciplinary approach in the unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, intervene, and manage patients in the General Medical Ward, Surgical Specialty Unit and the Emergency Department.
* Provide specialised consultation and skills to patients with age‐related diagnoses and cognitive impairment.
* Manage a case load of patients with complex needs, assisting patient flow and discharge planning.
* Lead the physiotherapy team and support an inter‐disciplinary approach to care.
* Collaborate with other acute service providers, General Practitioners, Primary Care providers and community based services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Demonstrated high‐level interpersonal skills including negotiation, consultation and conflict resolution, and the ability to establish and maintain effective networks with key stakeholders.
* Flexible, adaptive and responsive to change, aligning with key organisational priorities in a fast‐moving environment.
* Extensive experience in providing clinical physiotherapy services to clients with a broad range of illnesses and disabilities in acute medical and surgical settings, including complex needs and older adults.
* Innovative and enterprising in problem‐solving and planning.
