Errington Special Education Centre caters for students with an intellectual disability and associated complex needs R-12. Seventy percent of our students live with Autism and sixty percent live with communication complex needs and many with behavioural / sensory complex needs. The student community is multicultural and diverse. All students have a One Plan.
Teachers applying for this position must have experience in teaching all elements of the, Australian Curriculum, The Arts with a focus on dance, drama and music to students with complex needs and be familiar in using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies. Teachers will be required to adhere to our established school policies, curriculum and pedagogical agreements teaching to a scope and sequence R-12.
The Arts teacher will be required to lead the established school choir, including the organising of performances; foster a love of The Arts across our student population, creating opportunities for students to experience and access dance, drama and music.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of the school community, adding value to the vibrancy of the school and contributing to the positive school culture Teachers are required to work collaboratively with class and sub school teams to achieve optimal outcomes for students.
