Provide clinical music therapy services to children and adolescents at The Royal Children’s Hospital, supporting their hospital experience through targeted therapy.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver excellent music therapy services to children and families with complex needs across various specialty areas.
- Work within the Child Life Therapy and Music Therapy department as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate closely with music therapy staff, medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
- Support patients using music therapy to assist with treatment, mental health, and neurodevelopment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain high standards of service delivery.
About You
What you'll need:
- Excellent music skills.
- Current Registered Music Therapist (RMT) status with the Australian Music Therapy Association, MT-BC, or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of music therapy for infants, children, and young people, including neurodevelopment and mental health needs.
- Effective communication skills to maintain interdisciplinary team dynamics.
- Ability to work in a family‑centred way, prioritising the best interests of children and families.
- Current National Criminal Record Check or willingness to obtain.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Compliance with RCH’s Staff Immunisation requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Classification GA3 with a base salary of $70,590 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation and salary packaging.
